LIMA, Mayté et al. Gastrointestinal stromal tumors treated with Imatinib®: report of 2 cases. Rev cubana med [online]. 2006, vol.45, n.2. ISSN 0034-7523.

The first 2 patients with sarcomas of the gastrointestinal stroma (GIST) treated with imatinib in our country were presented. Emphasis was made on the diagnosis by immunohistochemistry, on the use of treatment with imatinib combined with surgery, and on the evaluation of the response to the treatment.
