The case of a patient with late diagnosis of dissecting aorta aneurysm that was admitted in this center with a clinical picture of intense precordial pain and arterial hypotension is reported. A transitory complete atrioventricular block without associated signs of ischemia was detected in the initial ECG. Evolutively, important anemia with ecchymotic lesions in the the lumbar regions was observed. The topic on the acute aortic syndrome was reviewed. The value of maintaining the suspicion of this entity and the role of the echocardiography and the computarized axial tomography were stressed
