LEYVA QUERT, Abel Yoandri et al. Prognostic factors and survival after the coronary percutaneous intervention with stent. Rev cubana med [online]. 2008, vol.47, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-302X.
The favorable evolution of the patients after the implantation of intracoronary stents is shadowed by the presence of major adverse cardiac complications. A study of prognostic factors was conducted to identify predictors of these processes and to calculate the cardiac death-free survival and the major adverse cardiac complications. 189 patients treated with conventional coronary stents were included. The survival rates were estimated by Kaplan Mejer method and compared by Log Rank's test. The mean follow-up was 13 ± 4.5 months. It was found that 41 of the patients presented some adverse event and 29 required new revascularization of the target lesion. A year later, the cardiac death-free survival rates and the combined processes were 96.8 and 77.7 %, respectively. The left ventricular dysfunction and the diameter of the stent over 3 mm were independent predictors of major cardiovascular complications.
