131 cases of children of different ages, sex, and race, apparently sound, coming from the outpatient department of the "Juan Manuel Márquez" Pediatric Teaching Hospital, were studied aimed at knowing basal concentrations of salicylates in urine. 20 voluntary cases were studied later to establish reference values, and lo cases of children with intoxication due to salicylate were processed so as to determine the toxic range of this parameter in urine.
