Resumen
DE LA PARTE PEREZ, Lincoln. Reanimación del recién nacido. Rev Cubana Pediatr [online]. 2003, vol.75, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3119.
The etiology and incidence of cardiac arrest in children have significantly changed in the same way as the surveillance, diagnosis and therapeutical methods have been modified during the last two decades. The routine use of fetal monitoring and transcutaneos saturometry techniques in the newborn has been highly effective in diagnosing and preventing complications. Despite the afore-mentioned, children and particularly newborns show a cardiac arrest incidence that is three times that of the adults The resuscitation applied to manage this complication is more successful in operation rooms and special care units since the staff there has required knowledge, training and resources. The objective of this literature review is to present the recent advances in the resuscitation techniques that should be used in newborns.
