The use of carboplatin in pediatric oncology is more frequent every day. Its efficacy has been proved not only in association with other drugs, but in monotherapy and in treatment regimes with rescue of haematopoietic cell progenitors. Numerous solid tumors of childhood are benefitted from its use. Its lower renal and auditive toxicity are an advantage over cisplatin. The extension of its application and the modalities of individual adaptation of the pediatric posology recommend the use of doses based on the calculation of the area under the curve.
