Abstract

DIAZ GONZALEZ, Jorge Luis et al. A propos of a case of ankyloblepharon. Rev Cubana Pediatr [online]. 2014, vol.86, n.2. ISSN 0034-7531.

Here is the case of a 9 days-old Black male neonate, who was referred by the pediatrician of his health area to "William Soler" pediatric hospital ophthalmological service in Havana. He presented with functional eyelid disorder. On the ophthalmological exam, the specialist detected the fusion of upper and lower eyelids of his left eye, fundamentally in the external angle, limited separation of them hindering normal movements. After ruling out other associated congenital malformations at the eye or systemic level, it was decided to operate him to repair the anomaly. His recovery was satisfactory up to the discharge from hospital.

Keywords : ankyloblepharon; case.
