A descriptive study was conducted to establish the main fertility disorders among couples from the "Arroyo Naranjo" municipality during 1995. It was attained a pregnancy rate of 21 % and the most frequent time of infertility was between 2 and 5 years. Half of the patients were never pregnant and only 19.4 % had children, 1 out of 3 patients had the tubal factor involved, 46.8 % ofthe patients had husbands with pathological spermiograms, and 16.7 % of the patients were diagnosed a non-determined infertility on concluding the study. 75.3 % of the patients had irregular menstrual cycles, whereas 24.7 % were regular. Most of the patients were between 20 and 34 years of age, standing for 156 patients of the sample. No association was found between man's age and the spermiogram alteration, but it was demonstrated that jobs with risks for male fertility affected almost every man at them.
