Resumen
ORTIZ LEE, Carlos y DE MARCOS LOPEZ, Nayra. Are we ready to face vaginal delivery after cesarean section?. Rev Cubana Obstet Ginecol [online]. 1998, vol.24, n.2, pp. 65-68. ISSN 1561-3062.
A descriptive study was conducted by surveying patients who had cesarean sections at the "Clodomira Acosta Ferrales" Hospital during the last four months of 1993 in order to explore their degree of knowledge and the acceptability of vaginal delivery after cesarean section. 100 obstetricians from Havana City were also surveyed to know if they were willing to change the conduct to be followed in favor of this method. 40 % of the patients were ready to attempt vaginal delivery and after reveiving an explanation about its advantages 75.65 % were favorably disposed to have transpelvic delivery. 80 % of the obstetricians are decided to face a change of conduct and to allow patients with prior cesarean sections to try vaginal delivery.
