The results of a work performed in coordination with the Gynecoobstetric Teaching Hospital of Matanzas and the Municipal Maternal Hospital are offered. 129 patients who were admitted in 1996 were studied. The collected data were processed by the MICROSTAT system. The percentage method, the arithmetical means, the test of proportions and the X² were used. It was concluded that the maternal home´s coverage responds to the instructions received from the higher level, and that it maintains an adequate follow-up of the malnourished pregnant women. The weight gain among newborns is good and its behavior in the morbimortality indicators in low, depending on the prolongued stay of the risk factor and on the individuality of each patient.
