A retrospective longitudinal and descriptive study of 343 cases diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy was made in “Dr Luis Díaz Soto” Higher Institute of Military Medicine from 1989 to 1999. The incidence of ectopic pregnancy was 21 %, and mortality rate was 0.6 per 10 000 live births. The predominant ages in pregnant women ranged 25 to 29 years. Abortion and pelvic inflammatory disease were the most frequent history. Salpingectomy was the most used treatment preceded by early diagnosis. There has been an upward secular trend in this entity in the last three years.
