A case of heterotopic pregnancy is presented. Some aspects of the etiology, diagnosis and treatment of this entity are reviewed. The frequency of this pregnancy has increased in the last years with the implementation of assisted-reproduction techniques. In this case, the patient presented with a dead intrauterine fetus, a frequent complication in this type of cases, 7 weeks after she underwent the removal of a fetus from the bottom of her Douglas's bag.
