The results of the study of the maternal gallbladder conducted among 2 198 pregnant women by screening ultrasound from January to December, 1998, were analyzed. 120 cases proved to be positive, 106 had lithiasis and 15 had polyps or pseudopolyps. It was found that the affections predominated in the age group 20-29 in white and obese nuliparous women.
