PEREZ RAMIREZ, Miguel; PEREZ RAMIREZ, Ramón y HARTMANN GUILARTE, Armando. Biliary lithiasic disease in pregnant patients: Echographic study. Rev Cubana Obstet Ginecol [online]. 2001, vol.27, n.2, pp.124-128. ISSN 0138-600X.
The pregnant women that attended the Ultrasound Department of the General Teaching Hospital of Baracoa underwent a gallbladder screening in order to determine the frequency of lithiasis and to suggest measures to prevent the complications of this disease during pregnancy. The following variables were analyzed: frequency of lithiasis during pregnancy, number of pregnant women at diagnosis, age of the patients, number of concretions and their size, time of gestation at diagnosis and main symptoms presented by the patients with lithiasis. It was observed that of the 100 pregnant women who underwent ultrasound 4 had lithiasis and that it was more frequent among multiparous women. There was a predominance of multiple concretions and the biggest measured 5 mm.
