An updating is made on the contraceptive methods existing for middle-aged women The endocrine characteristics of perimenopause are defined, the risks of pregnancy in middle-aged women are detailed, and the different contraceptive methods in premenopause with their risks and benefits are explained. It was concluded that pregnancy in middle-aged woman has a high obstetric and perinatal risk.
