Abortion was a practice accompanying humanity from immemorial times. The induced abortion in adolescence involves the sexual and reproductive health, thus it is a health problem. OBJECTIVE: To determine the abortion's behavior at those ages. METHODS: A cross-sectional, observational, descriptive, and empirical research was carried out on the induced abortion behavior in adolescents seen in the "10 de Octubre" Maternal and Children Hospital over 2006-2007. The carrying out frequency in adolescents was identified and some epidemiological factors were described present in study patients. Study sample included all the adolescents underwent interrupted pregnancy by abortion in the first trimester. Research included all adolescents came to this hospital to perform a induced abortion and its write consent to be part of research. RESULTS: Predominant age group included all average adolescents with the 52.3 %. The prevalent age at onset of sexual intercourse was of 15 and 17 years for a 62.2 %. The 56.7 % of them no used contraceptive methods by forgetting (28.8 %) or by fear (25 %). CONCLUSION:The more frequent reason for interrupted pregnancy was the short age to assume maternity (50.4 %). Only the 3.8 % had some morbidity.
