OBJECTIVE: To determine la incidence of some risk factors in the pre-eclampsia with severity signs. METHODS: A retrospective and descriptive study was conducted on the incidence of some risk factors in the pre-eclampsia with severity signs in patients of the "Eusebio Hernández" University Hospital from January, 2007 to December, 2008. Universe included the total of pregnants women and the sample all patients diagnosed with pre-eclampsia with severity signs seen in above mentioned hospital studying the following variables: age, parity, gestational age at diagnosis and the birth way. RESULTS: The higher incidence was present in the 21-34 age group with as 54.1 Nuliparity represented the higher incidence with the 60.7 % of patients, diagnosis was made at the 37-41.6 weeks gestational age and the higher number of births was achieved by the primitive cesarean section with the 52.5 %. CONCLUSIONS: Among the study risk factors, nuliparity was the most frequent one, the diagnosis of pre-eclampsia of study patients was among the 37 and the 41.6 % weeks in the main was by cesarean section.
