Objective: to assess the management of ectopic pregnancy. Methods: a descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study was conducted on the management of ectopic pregnancy in the "Eusebio Hernández" Gynecology-Obstetrics University Hospital from January, 2005 to December, 2007. Universe included 477 patients, who were admitted and diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy confirmed by the anatomical-pathological report related to diagnosis. Results: from the symptoms present in patients, the more frequent one was the abdominal pain in the 94.8 %, followed by bleeding in the 86.6 % and within the more frequent signs was the palpation pain in the 92.1 %. Analyzing the complementary studies performed, that of more positive was the determination of chorionic gonadotropin hormone in urine in the 98.8 %. The 76.1 % of cases was diagnosed in the complicated phase and only the 23.9 % was diagnosed in the non-complicated one. The ampullary location was the more frequent in the 73.8 % and the more carried out operation was the salpingectomy in the 80 % of cases. Conclusions: the more used surgical technique was the salpingectomy. There was radical behavior in face of the greater number of distal tubal pregnancy.
