HERNANDEZ PEDROSO, Wilfredo. Shock in war wounded people. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 1999, vol.28, n.2, pp. 114-119. ISSN 1561-3046.
The increase of military potential has brought about a rise in the number of war wounded in armed conflicts in the last few years and more serious and complex injures among which shock outstands for the frequency and implications. This has encouraged studies and research works on the syndrome. Knowledge related to physiopathology, clinical signs and behaviour to be followed has improved. Emphasis is made on the importance of transportation and oxygen consumption in a state of shock. Recognition of clinical elements and steps to be taken are underlined. Various solutions that may be recommended for improving volemia and their main characteristics are presented.
