This paper presents a patient aged 44 years, who was sent to the Emergency Center of Higher Institute of Military Medicine because he has suffered a closed abdominal trauma as a result of a fall from high. He was operated on. During the surgery, a transaxphyxiating injure was found in the mean portion of right liver lobe, which had a hole in the upper side and another one in the lower paravesicular side, with communication beteen them, active bleeding and blood released in peritoneal cavity amounting to 2 500 mL approximately. A Sengstaken-Blakemore stent was passed through the injure and the esophagic balloon was inflated with 120 mL of physiological serum that stopped bleeding. The patient recovered in a satisfactory way during post-operative period according to the results of the clinical, laboratory and ultrasonographic follow-up. The effectiveness of this method was proved.
