Resumen

ZAYAS GUILLOT, Juan Daniel. Magnetoterapia, su aplicación en la medicina. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2001, vol.30, n.4, pp. 263-271. ISSN 1561-3046.

Magnetism is a science whose efficiency has been judged by time. Dr. William Gilbert in his book about magnetism written in 1600, explained its principles and his personal experiences in its application on a large group of affections of the SOMA. During all these years and with the advances of physical and medical sciences, many of the enunciations made by Gilbert and other scientists that worked on this topic have been proved. This paper includes a historical review on the application of magnetism in medicine, some of the main researchers and the present situation of the application of magnetism in the world, based on the infometric studies conducted on this topic by Biomundi consultancy, with our advisory. A brief explanation of the main present lines of research and development of the application of magnetism is made. The results of recent research on the adverse effects of the application of the magnetic fields are shown to conclude.

Palabras clave : ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS; ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES.
