Abstract

HERNANDEZ PEDROSO, Wilfredo; CHAVEZ PEREZ, Ernesto  and  JOANNES FIOL, Javier. Nutrition in the patient with complex trauma injuries. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2001, vol.30, suppl.5, pp.71-76. ISSN 0138-6557.

In the management of these patients, nutrition plays an important role because of malnutrition risks and its possible consequences. This paper sets forth some aspects as nutritional assessment, forms of nutrition, types of diet used; makes comments on the nutritional support that should be applied in the most frequent complications of these patients and provides experience and the most significant updated criteria about this topic.

Keywords : MULTIPLE TRAUMA [complications]; ENTERAL NUTRITION; PARENTERAL NUTRITION; INTENSIVE CARE UNITS.
