Syncope is the reason of frequent visits paid by a great number of patients to the Neurology Service. On many occasions, this is due to the fact that some physicians, who take care of these patients, do not know the correct diagnostic management of this important syndrome and ignore that syncope also requires in many cases the involvement of other specialists like the cardiologist or the internal physicians, although most of times, the general practitioner at the patient´s bedside can make a diagnosis by means of questionning and adequate physical examination. This article presents, according to our experience and aspects reviewed in literature, the elements for making correct diagnosis by optimally using the clinical method.
