LIMA MOMPO, Gilda et al. Inducción y medición del dolor experimental. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2003, vol.32, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3046.

A review of the procedures and strategies used to induce pain in human beigns is presented. The perception of pain varies considerably in relation to emotional or psychic factors. There are different methods to quantify pain. The advantages and disadvantages of these procedures are discussed. The use of procedures to induce pain allows to evaluate the efficacy of the treatments and to analyze the variables having a differentiated effect of the painful experience. The pain produced by the cryopressure test is considered the most similar to clinical pain, both in the nature of sensations it brings about and in the registered tolerance indexes. It is a good analog of pathological pain and it makes possible a generalization of the results in clinical practice.
