Resumen

RODRIGUEZ VALDES, Roberto N.  y  QUEVEDO FONSECA, Carlos R.. Programa de psicoterapia educativa sexual en el tratamiento de las disfunciones sexuales. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2003, vol.32, n.2. ISSN 0138-6557.

Due to the importance of the educative factors in the appearance and maintenance of sexual dysfunctions, a Program of Educative Sexual Psychotherapy (ESP) was designed. The goal of the study was to determine the effectiveness of ESP compared with the traditional system of sexual therapy (ST). Patients were divided into 2 groups according to the therapeutic modality received. An evaluation was carried out before and after the treatment by the test of selfassessment of the sexual sphere. They were classified taking into account the improvement observed into improved, resolved and non resolved. 38 % of the patients who took part in the program resolved with the treatment and 54 % improved. In the ST group, 56 % were included in the non resolved category. On concluding the treatment for all the evaluated aspects with the test of sexual life selfassessment, higher scores were obtained in the ESP. It was concluded that the proposed program was more effective than the treatment traditionally used in sexual psychotherapy.
