Abstract

The health for defense term is introduced. The personal points of view of the redimensioning and improvement of research and development and of the thematic work of research and development of the Medical Services of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (RAF) are dealt with. Within the concept of health for defense, it is included the optimization by an appropiate design of the study of the medical causes that may inlfuence on the non-continuity of the professionaly useful period of life of the military cadre in his job, according to his specialty. The second aspect referes to the utilization of the scientific and pedagogical research directed to the improvement of the training of the medical officers and other participating personnel for their performance in time of peace and war. It is stated that the research by scientific methods of the structures and operational procedures created for the functioning of the medical services of the Revolutionary Armed Forces in war and/or natural disasters, where the structures of the peace time settings may be obsolete or impracticable, may be included in the concept of health for defense.
