A literature review was made on the use of laparoscopy in the diagnosis of abdominal trauma. The requirements that the patient with abdominal trauma should meet so that this procedure can be applied were listed and analyzed. The possibilities of using laparoscopy both in open and closed abdominal traumas were compared. Technical applications of the minimal access surgery that facilitates the recovery of the injured patients. Finally, the paper analyzes the need for performing prospective studies so as to evaluate benefits and efficiency of this type of surgery.
