Resumen
PEREZ LORENZO, Marlén et al. Clinical and epidemiological aspects of the associations among hepatotropic viruses. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2005, vol.34, n.2. ISSN 0138-6557.
An observational descriptive study was conducted in 18 subjects with hepatitis of atypical course. In every case, the viral origin of this behavior was proved, whereas other causes of metabolic, toxic and autoimmune origin were discarded. It was found that 12 individuals (66.6 % ) presented an association of viruses A and E, other 5 (2,7 %) showed a simultaneous association of viruses B and C, and one case had a dual infection A-C. The impact of the viral coinfections on morbidity was determined. They were responsible for severe, acute, prolonged and recurrent hepatitis, as well as for chronic moderate and severe liver damage. The possible acquisition sources were analyzed.
Palabras clave : Coinfection; hepatitis; hepatotropic viruses.
