FALCON LINCHETA, Leopoldina y CARDENAS DIAZ, Rubén A.. Evaluation of the quality of life in patients with tinea pedis. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2006, vol.35, n.2. ISSN 0138-6557.
A study was made on the quality of life of patients with tinea pedis for which a specific questionnaire was designed. This instrument measured the level of impact of this disease according to the dimensions of the World Health Organization that include physical, functional and psychological health and the social dimension, as well as the aspects measuring life satisfaction (general life, material requirements, working life, personal life, life in couple and sexual life). The level of impact on the quality of life was compared in each of the variables associated with the personal data from the questionnaire. The conclusions of the study showed that tinea pedis did not affect the quality of life of 97,6 % of patients, according to the World Health Organization dimensions. Statistically significant figures were found in the impact of this disease on life satisfaction scales with respect to working life and daily life.
