Resumen

DUARTE ZAMORA, Elis et al. Effectiveness of California floral therapy in patients with diagnosis of stress. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2006, vol.35, n.4. ISSN 0138-6557.

A comparative, prospective, therapeutical and clinical study was undertaken in a sample of 50 patients, from September 2004 to March 2005. They were divided into two groups, a study group (A), and a control group (B), with 25 individuals each, selected by the simple randomised method to demonstrate the effectiveness of California's floral essences as a therapeutical choice for stress. Each patient had a clinical microhistory and a vulnerability test and Roja's test, which was repeated at 7, 15, 30, and 60 days of treatment. The highest incidence was observed in males aged 31-40, with a predominance of insomnia, hypoamnesia, sexual dysfunction, obesity, depression, stress, irritability, and restlessness. The most used floral essences were: Garlic, Saint John's Wot, Stick Monkey Flowers, Hibiscus, Filare, Yerba Santa, Chrysanthemun, Borage, Chaparral, Chamomille, Lavender, and Rose Mary. 100% of the treated patients had a satisfactory evolution with a rapid incorporation to their usual activities.

Palabras clave : Stress; floral therapy; traditional medicine.
