HECHAVARRIA BORRERO, Pedro Manuel et al. Choronariography in personnel with hidden ischemic heart disease. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2007, vol.36, n.4. ISSN 0138-6557.

A descriptive longitudinal study was conducted with specialized personnel that had a medical examination as part of their health control at "Dr. Joaquin Castillo Duany" Clinical and Surgical Teaching Hospital of Santiago de Cuba, in 2005. There were 2 or more risk factors for ischemic heart disease to determine the hidden morbidity of this entity by choronariography. The group under study was composed of 24 patients that had met the inclusion criteria. They were interviewed, and physical examination, ergometry and coronariography were performed. It was found an elevated hidden morbidity of ischemic heart disease (70.8 %). The positive index of choronariography was higher among those over 40. A predominance was observed in individuals over 50, with 33.3 %. 62.5 % corresponded to specific patients with 25 or more years of service, whose jobs have well-defined characteristis. The risk factor most related to positive choronariography were stress (66.7 %), arterial hypertension (62.5 %), obesity (54.2 %) and hypercholesterolemia (45.8 %). It was proved that hidden ischemic heart disease frequently occurs in persons working under especial risk conditions.
