Abstract

IGLESIAS ALFONSO, José del Carmen; ALDANA VILAS, Laura; GARCIA GUTIERREZ, Eulalia  and  VAZQUEZ DIAZ GRANADOS, Gastón. Heart rate in the immediate active bipedal posture in healthy young people. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2010, vol.39, n.2, pp.104-115. ISSN 0138-6557.

OBJECTIVE: to characterize the dynamics of changes in heart rate during active and immediate bipedal posture in young people. METHODS: a total of 132 supposedly healthy young people aged between 18 and 25. The supine electrocardiography activity was digital and continuously registered and at onset of active bipedal posture obtaining the RR interval frequencies in automated way and verified by a specialist using the ""RITMOCARD" version 3.2. The cardiac intervals series assisted by VFC32 were processed. The heart rate was studied using 27 indicators grouped in: positional and ordinate, of average, of change velocity, relational and temporary. RESULTS: median values and standard deviation from the main vital indicators in healthy subjects group. The used indicators allowed us to characterize the group during the complex and fast interactions producing in the position change. Values of these indicators may serve as reference to be used in the staff selection and in the health control in an age group of very medical-military significance. CONCLUSIONS: characterization of heart rate response dynamics in immediate active bipedal posture of Cuban young males may be useful for military staff selection.
