Abstract

CODORNIU, Carlos Lage. Monetary Planning: A Marxist Monetary Theory Approach. Econ. y Desarrollo [online]. 2014, vol.151, n.1, pp.30-43. ISSN ISSN.

The article is part of a master's research work by the author, aiming at identifying the agreeing and opposite critical issues between the Marxist monetary theory and money quantitative theory, as a contribution and motivation to the debate on the need and extent of monetary planning in socialism. The survey allows to conclude that monetary planning in socialism should watch over the compliance with the law in terms of the needed soft money in its circulation and the general law or its regulation, so that it may guarantee the functioning of money as a measure of value, and, as such, the fulfillment of proportions devised by the plan and reproduction of the socialist system.

Keywords : quantity of money; planning; monetary policy; prices; socialism.
