Various aspects are analysed related to the photovoltaic energy, namely: environmental aspects, production, markets, costs, crystalline silicon solar cells (c-Si) progress, economic analysis and forecast of photovoltaic (PV) energy. The paper comments on the characteristics of the components for PV systems, the reduction cost tendency for each kWh FV vs. kWh fossil. Some economic actions are suggested to promote a national PV program in Cuba.
