Abstract

HERRERA DIAZ, Yulién. Local Productive Arrangements in Cuba. A Proposal for their Development. Econ. y Desarrollo [online]. 2014, vol.152, n.2, pp.155-167. ISSN ISSN.

Local development processes, the transformation of the productive base through definite production organizational forms, through which the corresponding actors are articulated following a common goal. In developed capitalism, such forms are manifested as local productive systems, while in the underdeveloped capitalism it is not possible to find as a pattern concatenations sufficiently solid to be classified as "systems"; that is why Brazilian authors have classified as "arrangements" the ways of organizing the prevailing local production in this group of countries. The analysis of both theories, from a Marxist perspective, as well as from the local dimension of the Cuban economic model, has brought about the characterization and proposal of transformation of Cuban local productive arrangements, which serves as a complement of such theory and contributes to the to the theoretical and methodological construction of socialist society at present.

Keywords : regional/local economy; organizational forms of local production; local production cooperative networks; socialist transition.
