Abstract

The present European monetary region crisis is related with failures in its design, that is why its contradictions have a structural nature. The present article describes the most likely scenarios for Euro-zone; however, the best possible ones forsee a lost decade for Europe's growth and welbeign. The Euro-zone and Latin America have consolidated an economic bi-regional assimetric relationship, that strengthens itself with the crisis; so the ocurring scenario will not positively impact the Latin American region. In such conditions, it is more feasible for it to foster the regional monetary and financial iniciatives.
