The aim of this research is to assess the main determining factors that are nowadays influencing on work participation of individuals in Cuba. In order to accomplish this, the results of the estimates of a probit model on work participation during 2013 are presented. The determining factors which have a positive or a negative impact in the probability of participation in the Cuban work market during that year are identified. It was corroborated that sociodemographic variables are today the ones with greatest impact in the possibility of an individual's work participation in Cuba. Identification and quantification of the factors with the greatest impact in an individual's work participation decision today in Cuba, constitutes the main contribution of this research.
