Financing of health systems plays an essential role in the coverage levels of health services, likewise, this financing influence in quality and results achieved not only in this sphere, but also in social terms in general. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to reflect about the way the financing of health services plays an essential role in the provision of higher quality services, in achieving a greater coverage and better results. Cuban experience has reached remarkable results in this area, which constitutes a point of reference worldwide. In the case of Cuba, this has been translated in an ever growing state financing of the national health system in order to guarantee a higher coverage, worldwide access, different programs sustainability, as well as the quality and results achieved in such area.
