GONZALEZ SAEZ, Ruvislei  and  HERNANDEZ HERNANDEZ, Franklin M.. Asia and the Great Challenge of Covid-19: Resilience and Adaptation. Econ. y Desarrollo [online]. 2021, vol.165, suppl.1, e9.  Epub Jan 21, 2021. ISSN ISSN.

The Asian region was the place of origin and initial epicenter of the COVID-19. Its expansion into China and other countries in the area had a strong impact on economic growth and stability, not only regionally but also globally. As it spread, the situation in a number of sectors of the world economy became critical. The Asian countries adopted a series of national measures and/or integration frameworks to reduce the impacts of the coronavirus. Asia sees this difficult moment as an opportunity to boost international cooperation and some sectors, especially the digital economy. The article aims to determine the impacts caused by the pandemic, the policies carried out to face this situation, as well as the opportunities that are opening up in the midst of the complex international panorama.

Keywords : Asia; COVID-19; growth; crisis; digital economy; integration.
