Fifty years of international trade relations encompass numerous events. In each decade that has elapsed, from 1970 to 2019, events stand out that illustrate the different moments through which international trade relations have passed. It is possible to identify phenomena that set trends over the years. Some components are common to several stages, while others emerged as a result of the development of productive forces. An analysis of their evolution over time makes it possible to highlight the most significant changes. The article offers a synthesis of the main events that have occurred over five decades in international trade and multilateral trade negotiations. It is structured in five epigraphs, each one dedicated to a decade, starting with 1970-1979 and culminating with 2010-2019.
