RODRIGUEZ, Majela; AVILA, Mislay; DIAZ DE ARCE, Heidy y BARRERA, Maritza. DESIGN OF A POLYMERASE CHAIN REACTION ASSAY FOR THE DETECTION OF bovine Herpesvirus type 1. Rev Salud Anim. [online]. 2007, vol.29, n.1, pp. 21-27. ISSN 0253-570X.
The design of a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) assay for the detection of bovine herpesvirus type 1 (BHV-1) was described. This one was based on the amplification of a portion of the viral tk gene, for which different concentrations of primers, magnesium chloride and different annealing temperatures were tried. In addition, the parameters of analytical performance, sensitivity and specificity were evaluated with satisfactory results. Under the optimal conditions, the amplification of the band 202 pb expected was obtained, and the utility of the test for the identification of isolates was demonstrated.
