Abstract
HERRERA, P et al. RELATION BETWEEN FOETAL STRUCTURE SIZE AND PREGNANCY TIME IN BUFFALOES FROM WATER. Rev Salud Anim. [online]. 2007, vol.29, n.1, pp.28-32. ISSN 0253-570X.
A total of 28 Buffalypso buffaloes with ages between 4 and 8 years old, and weight average from 580 to 690 kg was used in this study. The conceptus was examined every 7 days using a Ultrasound ALOKA-SSD-500 Real time B Mode equipped with a linear transducer of 5 MHz. The study was carried from the tenth day postbreeding, registering the beginning of the first heartbeat, as well as detection for first time of the amniotic vesicle. Conceptus and gestational vesicle long (until the day 73) was registered. Embryo was observed for the first time between 19 to 23 days, as average to the 22.5 3.5 days and its measurement was 6 mm until 46 mm on the day 73. The first heartbeat was detected in the 28th day. The gestational vesicle growth in the area of the embryo localization was from 5 mm in the day 22.5 ±3.5 up to 116 ±3.8 mm in the day 60. It is concluded that these parameters can be used for monitoring the pregnancy physiological development in Buffalypso water buffaloes.
