Abstract
BETANCOURT, A; RODRIGUEZ, Edisleidy; RELOVA, Damarys and BARRERA, Maritza. ISOLATION OF BOVINE CORONAVIRUS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN CUBA. Rev Salud Anim. [online]. 2007, vol.29, n.2, pp.128-132. ISSN 0253-570X.
Faecal samples were tested for bovine coronavirus by means of agglutination of hamster erythrocytes and hemagglutination inhibition. Isolation of bovine coronavirus was carried out in monolayers of primary culture of calf kidney, using faecal samples from dairy cows with clinical signs similar to winter dysentery. When isolated, they were submitted to seroneutralization with anti-bovine coronavirus serum. These isolates were confirmed to be positive, once being neutralized.
Keywords : Bovine coronavirus; isolation; winter dysentery.
