In order to research the presence of Giardia spp. in Australian parakeets (Melopsittacus undulatus) presenting or not diarrheic pictures, a survey was carried out in sixty birds coming from two aviaries of breeders by analysis of feaces samples with Gram tint. The results evidenced the presence of the agent in the 8,33 % of the birds presenting clinical symptoms.
