In order to identify the genus of gastrointestinal strongyles in goats, faecal stool samples of goats were collected directly from the rectal ampulla, in four localities of Sumbe municipality, Kwanza-Sul province, in the central part of Angola. The morphological observation of the infective larvae was carried out (L3), and five strongyles were identified: Haemonchus, Ostertagia, Oesophagostomum, Trichostrongylus, and Cooperia, showing a proportion of 52 %, 36 %, 5 %, 4 %, and 3 %, respectively. Haemonchus genus predominated, followed by Ostertagia and other strongyles in smaller proportion, with the presence of mixed infection.
