VEGA-CANIZARES, Ernesto; MARTINEZ BERMUDES, Reinaldo Luis; ROJO FIALLO, Roberto and IRURZUN ESTRADA, Carlos. Removal of a foreign body in a dog's stomach. Rev Salud Anim. [online]. 2019, vol.41, n.3, e04. Epub Dec 01, 2019. ISSN 0253-570X.
A dog´s stomach with the presence of a foreign body was analyzed by the gastrotomy surgical technique. The clinical method was used for diagnosis. As a complementary study, a simple x-ray of the abdomen was performed to confirm the diagnosis. The presence of a radiodense structure was observed resulting in a non-linear foreign body with an irregular surface (blade) located in the stomach. The correct procedure for clinical, trans-surgical diagnosis and post-surgical care allowed the recovery of the animal.
