BARRETO ARGILAGOS, Guillermo; RODRIGUEZ TORRENS, Herlinda de la Caridad; GARCIA CASAS, Tatiana  e  VAZQUEZ MONTES DE OCA, Roberto. Leptospirosis behaviour in positive pig and human reactors for a decade in Camagüey province. Rev Salud Anim. [online]. 2020, vol.42, n.2, e03.  Epub 01-Ago-2020. ISSN 0253-570X.

A sample, composed of 1 820 sera from pigs previously researched by the microscopic agglutination test and the data corresponding to 141 human patients positive to indirect haemagglutination, was used to evaluate the correlation between human and pig reactors to Leptospira spp. for a decade in Camagüey province, Cuba. The variables analyzed were worked pig samples, pig reactors, human reactors, pig reactors/worked samples and pig reactors/human reactors. The Spearman's correlation was used to establish the relationship between pig and human reactors. Eight hundred and seventy-six pig samples resulted reactors to Leptospira spp. The pig reactor/human reactor ratio ranged from three to four. The correlation between pig and human reactors was highly significant. This constitutes an epidemiological alert, given the high number of pigs in urban and peri-urban areas of the city.

Palavras-chave : pigs; Leptospira; leptospirosis; serovars; zoonosis.
