Abstract

VALDES DIAZ, Luis Rubén. The Model of Democracy "Proposed" by Capitalism. UH [online]. 2017, n.283, pp.20-28. ISSN 0253-9276.

The concept of democracy -had by scholars, politicians, researchers, or the ordinary person- has always been under political discussion from its origin until the present day. What is the best democratic system? Which one serves the interests of most people in society and therefore expresses the essence of its epistemology? These are questions variously answered. However, the Western world has tried to impose a model of democracy promoted by it. Is this model an infallible paradigm to be adopted? Does it stimulate a real political participation?

Keywords : Democracy; Inequality; Participation.
