In this paper, main approaches to sexual division of labor adopted by Classical and Contemporary Sociological Theory are examined in depth. Approaches adopted by classical and contemporary writers are also examined, taking into consideration their close connection with schools of thought they belong or have belonged to. Postulates made in the world of work are questioned from a nonsexist sociological perspective
