This essay describes the author's reflections on the importance to approach Law and its institution from a gender perspective considered as a new egalitarian and humanistic goal and on the influence of sexist stereotyping on social relations and sexuality as an object in need of legal protection long hidden behind inequality and patriarchal ideology. Examples are mentioned, ranging from the general theory of Law to criminological and judicial-criminal analysis to illustrate women's historical subordination to the exercise of power supported by legal regulations and judicial dogma.
